Political Mail is an easy and cost-effective way to create material promoting political candidates, referendum, or campaigns. Political Mail may be sent from a political candidate, federal, state or local campaign committee, or political party. The Postal Service has committed to provide tools to mailers that are necessary to implement a successful mailing campaign.

Election Mail is increasingly being used by state and localities to assist people in the voting process. Election Mail is any item mailed to or from authorized election officials that enable citizens to vote, such as:

• Voter registration cards
• Absentee applications
• Polling place notifications
