RFID Shield-DEFENDER™ envelopes are FIPS 201 (Federal Information Processing Standard) certified. They are made from a multi-ply paper/film/foil laminate that acts as a security barrier to prevent fraudulent radio frequency identification (RFID) skimming of sensitive information. This innovative material shields and protects information on smart (debit/credit) cards, e-passports, employee IDs, access control cards and the new enhanced driver’s licenses (EDLs).

DEFENDER’s™ advanced design limits the flow of RF energy between the reader and smart cards and RFID devices. So personal information stays personal and is protected from identity theft.

Features to feel secure about:

• Water-resistant, lightweight and tear-resistant.
• Made with archival paper that is chain-of-custody certified.
• Looks and feels like paper—can easily be printed or converted into any size envelope, envelope sleeve or envelope inserting product.
• Pressure sensitive adhesive activation labels can be created from this material that protects cards and tags that have an integrated circuit (IC) construction.
• Standard size of 2-1/4 x 3-1/2 is perfect for all types of cards (custom sizes also available).
